Job Description:
• Be punctual and dress professionally
• Swipe in and swipe out for working hour and inform the Head/Deputy Head of ESL Program for any unexpected error
• Be in class at least 5 minutes before the bell rings
• Be ready and well-prepared for the class with lesson plans and materials
• Work together with the TA, Head/Deputy Head of the subject
• Regularly mark the students’ work and carefully record it
• Return the students’ work with appropriate/effective corrective feedback
• Be fair, affable, and professional
• Maintain complete and accurate records of students’ progress with enough references
• Employ a variety of teaching approaches, strategies, or classroom activities to meet students’ distinct aptitudes and interests
• Provide a nurturing and supportive learning environment that promotes students’ learning responsibilities and inspires real challenges in learning
• Contact students’ parent/guardian concerning students’ academic or non-academic performance as well as their unexpected misbehaviors
• Carefully record students’ attendance
• Be open, sharing and creative
• Meet the deadline
• Maintain good relationships with other teachers and staff
• Attend every important meeting
• No phone during teaching hours except for blended learning/technology-based learning
• Submit termly reports on time
• Keep updating ESL-related duties and doing further research on teaching techniques/any relevant materials
• Patrol students during break time
• Write request forms for any equipment (LCD projector, DVD player, laptop, etc.) in advance
• Encourage the students to participate in any school event
• Request certificates for students
• Be a good school representative and ambassador.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or at least a senior in education in language teaching or related fields
• At least 2 years of experience in teaching
• Adopt positive working attitudes, characteristics as well as the ability to work as a team
• Be willing to take on new challenges and promote one’s own professional development
• Having some experience in teaching children is a good plus.
• Good English proficiency
• Good classroom management
• Outstanding personal and interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• The ability to keep concise records
• The ability to incorporate current technology into the classroom environment
• The ability to facilitate focus group discussion, analyze situations, and draw conclusions
• The ability to work with a diversity of individuals and groups
• Excellent problem solving skills to analyze issues and create action plans
• The ability to adapt to inconsistent work priorities and maintain flexible working hours
• The ability to establish and maintain constructive relationships.
