Job Description:
• Develop an assessment process and create an instructional design process with appropriate delivery methods and post-training evaluations.
• Recommend solutions for performance issues and potential areas of training
• Conduct training needs assessments and oversee the training function to teachers and school committee
• Develop a package training to other schools and companies as requested.
• Design and deliver TESOL teacher training courses effectively
• Keep the training materials updated
• Assist the TESOL House director to manage and promote the TESOL House programs
• Value added roles include:
• Designing and delivering in-house training programs for new and existing teachers like New Teacher’s Induction program and Workshops for Chinese and ESL Teachers
• Designing and delivering Management Training workshops for in-house staff with the objective of opening up to external participants in the future
• Deliver materials in an engaging and highly interactive manner by sharing ESL teaching experiences
• Facilitate the learning environment by fostering dynamic class discussions
• Enhance students’ mastery of subject matter and enrich their learning experiences
• Spark and develop interest in student centered learning
• Prepare lesson plans for the course(s).
• Monitor the trainees’ progress and development.
• Maintain complete and accurate record of each TESOL trainees
• Provide inspiring and purposeful leadership for the staff, teachers and trainees.
• Continue to implement a Development Plan that will secure continuous school improvement.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of TESOL House and respond and report to the management as required.
• Read and publicize all official memo(s) to students, attend all meetings and orientation at the beginning and/or throughout the term (meetings and orientation are mandatory).
• Be well planned for her/ his class. Design and follow a complete training plan.
• Initiate, plan, organize, and participate in activities, including extracurricular activities, training, and workshops (extracurricular activity is mandatory if required).
• Work in collaboration with Aii Language Center management team.
• Assist in developing a curriculum that takes an overall approach to English study and focus on a specific aspect of language use.
• Contribute productively to the school as a whole.
• Organize training materials and resources.
• Use a variety of activities and instructional methods.
• Assess trainee performance and progress to ensure they are mastering the skills on regular basis.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree or master degree from accredited universities.
• Qualifications and experience as a trainer would be an asset.
• 5+ years of EFL teaching experience.
• Good management skills.
• Capacity to engage participants, relate to them both one to one and in groups, and find out what they know.
• A good understanding of the content you teach and an ability to transform it into clear messages and practice via tasks and materials.
• Good classroom skills – for example, the ability to hold attention, question, wait, listen well, make good quality interventions, explain, demonstrate, negotiate learning that is meaningful and relevant for participants, and monitor group work.
• Ability to get on with colleagues and those above, to the side and below you.
• Ability to relate to students on a personal level.
• Ability to share practical teaching experiences and examples.
• Energetic, dynamic, motivational and professional.
• Committed to enriching students’ lives.
• Bachelor/Master degree in Education or related field.
• TESOL training certification.
