Job Description

– Be responsible and accountable for setting and advancing the academic strategy of the Department in line with Faculty and the Aii Language Center strategic plans and direction.
– Be an active member of the Faculty Executive Board and contribute to the overall leadership and management of the Faculty: it is expected that Deputy Campus Director will carry functional responsibility for specific agreed cross-cutting Faculty areas.
– Develop and sustain appropriate structures for management, consultation, decision-making and communication with staff and students.
– Promote and represent the center both internally and externally
Responsibility for Teaching & Students
– Ensure the best possible student experience
– Refresh and develop new programs in order to attract new students and markets.
Responsibility for Research
– Ensure the highest levels of quality, integrity and ethics in all research undertaken.
– Create a dynamic and forward-looking research environment for both staff and students.
– Create and exploit new opportunities for knowledge transfer activity in order to secure additional income streams and new areas of teaching and/or research.
– Contribute to the center-wide initiatives in order to improve understanding and communication of this area.
– Ensure that School HR policies and procedures are implemented.
– Ensure that staff performance is managed appropriately and in a way that is consistent with the expectations of the Management & the Senate, and that fair workload allocation processes are in place
– Ensure all staffs have access to the necessary support to enable them to contribute fully and develop their skills and experience.
– Engender a culture of excellence, co-operation and respect both within and beyond the department.
– Make effective use of all staffing resources and seek opportunities for collaboration and joint working with others beyond the department and beyond the Faculty.
– Ensure students are included as appropriate in the various decisions making within the department.
– Ensure a safe and healthy environment for both staff and students, and full compliance with health and safety requirements.
– Supervise & work collaboratively with the head teachers.
– Take responsibility for devolved budgets and comply with the centers financial regulations.
– Manage income and expenditure in order to promote financial sustainability.
– Ensure adherence by all Departmental members, with the Center Financial Regulations and other financial operating procedures and regulations.
– Ensure that Center’s equipment/facilities under the department´s control are properly maintained and serviced as required.
– Ensure all activities are carried out to the highest possible standards and put in place the necessary evaluation and monitoring procedures to ensure both compliance and improvement: such procedures will include teaching, research and management of all resources.
– Comply with auditing, quality assurance and management procedures both internal and external development of Academic & Research
– Develop and implement all short term and long term strategies and ensure consistency in same.
– Assist management with accurate information as required for all campus associate activities and initiate decisions.
– Determine and ensure effective maintenance on organized structure on campus.
– Supervise effective working of all subordinates and provide business and managerial assistance to all and develop effective team.
– Analyze all fiscal requirements for campus and execute strategies to achieve same.
– Ensure adherence to all statutory and regulatory regulations.
– Develop and implement various business plans on quarterly and monthly basis ensure effective working of everyday operations
– Monitor all objectives and strategic goals for operations and finances and ensure achievement of same.
Develop various new academic programs and provide modification to all current programs.
– Administer all student recruitment.

Job Requirements:

– Master degree in Education or related field
– Management experiences in education and related fields
– Excellent problem solving skills, and able to use initiative
– Ability to patiently work with people from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, religious views
– Ability to calmly manage and prioritize multiple tasks
– An approachable and friendly spirit, easy to smile and a can-do attitude
– Excellent computer skills with the MS Office Suite and proficient with Social Media
– Ability to understand and keep within a budget
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English
– Strong administrative and organizational skills.
