Job Description
- Perform regular annual exams on patients (e.g., pap smears)
- Analyze records, reports, test results, or examination information to diagnose medical
- condition of patient.
- Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
- Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical histories, reports, and
- examination results.
- Monitor patients over the course of pregnancies.
- Treat infections of the cervix, ovaries and fallopian tubes.
- Identify cancerous growths within the reproductive system.
- Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary.
- Provide post-natal care to new mothers.
- Educated patients on practices that promote wellness and health and instructed on measures to detect any abnormality or aberration in the female body, such as breast self-examination.
Job Requirements:
- Doctorate of medicine
- 4 years OB-GYN residency
- 2+ years practicing medicine in hospital or private practice.
- 2+ years’ experience as an obstetric or abdominal ultrasound technician.
- Proficient at patient charting and knowledgeable in relevant charting computer programs.
- Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, management and peers.
